I have a great opportunity for a Buyer to join an established manufacturing business in Sheffield.
This is a varied role with lots of development. The company offer exceptional training including fully funded CIPS, import and export, Sage 200, plus other internal system training.
You will play a pivotal role within the business, working in collaboration with all other departments such as procurement, engineering and operations. Confident communication skills are essential, ability to negotiate to deliver on-time results.
The Buyer will be responsible for the purchasing of direct and indirect products (everything from stationery to safety equipment and all that’s in-between!)
Managing the supplier relationships, ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained, supporting Operations and Finance with imports and exports and supporting Projects to ensure on time deliveries.
Duties & responsibilities:
Procurement:
- Support and develop the supply chain strategy, adapting to changes within market conditions to support the overall business strategies
- Administration of the purchase ordering and invoicing process on sage 200
- Set up new suppliers
- Authorising PO’s and completing ISO9001 records
- Stock control – implement minimum stock levels to ensure consumables are always available
- Managing critical long lead times to ensure availability when required
Supply Chain Management:
- Negotiate process and terms with suppliers, vendors or freight forwarders
- Implement improvements to supply chain processes and documentation
- Monitor supplier performance
- Product pricing efficiency checks
- Support operations activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, planning and inventory stock control
In addition, you will be actively involved with all imports and exports, liaising with freight forwarders and producing and controlling documentation (full training will be provided)
You will have excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and communicate effectively. CIPS qualification is an advantage, although this will be fully funded for the successful Buyer.
